Home Educational Play Safety Surfacing Woodchip / Bark
Woodchip and Bark are two options for safety surfacing for your school or nursery playground.
It is not necessary to provide a protective surfacing immediately for older equipment but it is recommended to have a planned programme of improvement as part of a play policy.
Both blend particularly well into woodland settings and work well visually with natural wooden play equipment.
If you would like to chat through your specific requirements then please email sales@caledoniaplay.com or call the office on 01577 840570. We can calculate the amount of safety surfacing your chosen products require and discuss the safety aspect of using the various safety surfacing options we have on offer.
Woodchip: SUR-WCHP(E)
Bark: SUR-BK(E)
Other surfacing we have to offer include the following:
Flexible rubber mats that are able to be laid on contoured surfaces with the large holes offering sufficient drainage. They are also wheelchair friendly and can withstand all weathers and extreme temperatures.
This gives an easy to care for surface with the softness, colour and bounce of real grass. It is porous and drains like real grass. It can be laid on sloping surfaces including soil, turf, concrete, tarmac and paving.
This can be placed on existing tarmac or concrete surfaces. There are many colours are available and tailor-made patterns can be created around specific products in the play area. Used wisely bonded rubber can be used to create shapes and patterns that children can use as part of their outdoor learning experience.
This is a mix of rubber and a special polyurethane binding agent and can be used as safety surfacing. It is a cost-effective way to convert a grassed area into an extra play area and can also be installed onto tarmac.
We also offer a Playground Markings Service where images, patterns, numbers, shapes and words are permanently applied to the outdoor playground surfacing. Email sales@caledoniaplay.com for more information.
