Rothesay Promenade Play Park – Isle of Bute
We were delighted to be asked to design, build and install a new inclusive play space beside Rothesay Ferry Terminal on the Isle of Bute.
A new play park has been created on Rothesay Esplanade, bringing a dedicated space for children and families back to this prominent waterfront location.
The play area includes a Junior Double Tower, timber boat, basket swing, four-person seesaw, MagPost and a range of timber seating. A key feature is the inclusive wheelchair-accessible trampoline, designed specifically for the project based on a concept created by the customer.
The equipment has been selected to provide opportunities for children of different ages and abilities to play, explore and enjoy the outdoors, with a mixture of imaginative, active and inclusive play.
The project was developed by Bute Business Improvement District (Bute BID) as part of the regeneration of the Esplanade, with the new play area opening in June 2026.
Its prominent waterfront location makes the play park a valuable addition to Rothesay, providing a welcoming space for local families and visitors to the island.
